Maidder Technology Co., Ltd. is a custom plastic injection molding ODM/OEM manufacturer based in Hengli Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong, China. Since 2016, we have built tooling and molded parts for buyers in North America, Europe, and Japan, and medical device plastic molding has become a core part of that work. This page covers what makes medical injection molding harder than general molding, how we control the process, and what documentation you actually receive with the parts.
If you are selecting a supplier, the real question is not whether a factory can shoot plastic. It is whether the part in lot 20 matches lot 1, whether the paperwork survives an audit, and whether someone answers a technical question without three rounds of email.
Why Medical Injection Molding Is More Demanding
Medical programs carry four burdens that consumer parts usually do not:
- Tolerances and geometry. Diagnostic equipment housings frequently combine thin walls, deep ribs, snap fits, and mating or optical surfaces that must align after assembly. Tool design and gate placement decisions made in week one determine whether those tolerances hold at production rates.
- Material control. Resin grade, lot, drying conditions, and regrind policy all affect mechanical performance and appearance. For food-contact and children's-product applications, tell us your application and target market; we will confirm suitable materials and documentation for your program.
- Documentation. Buyers need first-article inspection, dimensional reports, material certificates, and traceability from a finished part back to a production batch and machine.
- Change control. A geometry or material change on an approved part must be documented, re-verified, and approved — not absorbed quietly into the next shipment.
Our Approach: In-House Tooling, Process Control, and Traceability
We keep the critical steps under one roof rather than splitting them across vendors. An independent design department handles product development and tool design, supported by an engineering team with 15 years of experience in mold making and molding. Mold manufacturing, CNC machining, EDM, and wire cutting are done in-house, and molds up to 15 tons are within our range.
Tooling types we build regularly include multi-cavity molds, auto-unscrewing molds, 2K molds, overmolds, collapsible-core molds, and gas-assist molds. For complex, high-precision parts, we run Moldflow analysis at no charge and issue a DFM report before steel is cut. That step is where most mold cost and cycle-time problems are prevented, because a wall-thickness or draft issue found on a report costs far less than one found in a trial run.
Production runs on Yizumi and Tairui injection machines from 130 to 500 tons, on 24-hour shifts.
Metrology and process monitoring include:
- Coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and vision measuring instruments for dimensional verification
- Calipers and a colorimeter for fit and color checks against the approved standard
- Melt flow indexer for incoming resin verification
- Minitab statistical software for process capability analysis
Quality gates are applied at each stage: first-article inspection, in-process patrol inspection with traceability, process testing, and a per-product batch trace code on every shipment.
If your program requires contamination-controlled production rather than a standard molding shop environment, review our cleanroom injection molding page and confirm the applicable class and monitoring scope with our Engineering Team for your specific part.
Medical Device Molding Capability
We mold components for ultrasound imaging equipment builds and medical device housings, where dimensional repeatability and documentation carry more weight than unit price.
For context on where that experience comes from: Maidder was founded in 2016. Before that, our founder worked as a mold design engineer from 2006 to 2016 (pre-2016 career experience, not Maidder company projects). That background in tightly toleranced, high-volume molding informs how we quote and build medical tooling today.
Materials and Environmental Compliance
Material selection for medical and diagnostic parts depends on the sterilizing or cleaning method, chemical exposure, and the mechanical loads the part will see. Tell us your application and target market; we will confirm suitable materials and documentation for your program. Note: food-contact compliance does not by itself establish suitability for a medical application — medical use requires application-specific review and validation.
We do not select resin for you in isolation. The Engineering Team reviews the application, proposes grades, and provides material documentation so your compliance group can make the final call. Certificates available upon request.
Quality Documentation Buyers Receive
Documentation is part of the deliverable, not an afterthought. Depending on the program, you receive DFM reports and Moldflow results from the tooling phase, then first-article inspection reports, CMM dimensional data, and material certificates from production. Our PPAP approval process structures the submission so your quality team reviews a defined package instead of scattered files. Every batch is identified with a trace code tied to production records, which supports investigation and containment when a complaint arises.
For a closer look at the approval workflow, see our quality control and PPAP documentation page.
Tooling Ownership, MOQ, and Response Commitments
Commercial terms are built for buyers running pilot builds and low initial volumes:
- No MOQ — volumes are negotiable. Orders under 3,000 pieces incur a machine setup fee.
- Molds belong to the customer, with free maintenance and 1-year free storage.
- Batch quality issues are answered within 1 day.
- Sampling and production can run as a single one-stop flow: product development, 3D printing, mold and fixture manufacturing, injection molding, and assembly.
One-Stop Service and Supply Options
Because tooling, molding, and assembly sit with one supplier, this reduces handoff gaps when a part moves from sample approval to production — the same team that built the mold handles process settings and inspection. Buyers in North America, Europe, and Japan use this structure to shorten sampling cycles, then scale.
According to company information, we also operate a Cambodia production base with OEM Cambodia service for programs that need an alternative manufacturing origin or a second shipping origin.
If you have a medical housing or component requirement, send the 3D data, material callout, and target volumes. Our Engineering Team will review manufacturability, flag tolerance or material risks, and return a DFM report and quotation.
